There are two forms of Honours degrees in Law. Both are available within the period of time for completion of the ordinary degree.
The award of Merit Honours is available on the basis of overall academic performance.
The award of Honours is available on the basis of distinguished achievement in LAW480 Advanced Research Paper, considered together with overall academic performance.
Students must have maintained a specified level of academic performance in designated Law units before they may be permitted to enrol in LAW480 Advanced Research Paper. Students should seek advice and further information from the Academic Chair or Law School Office.
An Honours qualification of 2A is normally required for admission to higher research degree study.

Honours and Merit Honours are awarded on the basis of a high level of academic performance in the Bachelor degree.
No additional study is required.

The University reserves the right to cancel, without notice, any course, major, minor or unit if the number of students enrolled falls below limits set by the University.
