Description Large volumes of data get collected in various domains. The data collection rate is
increasing and with the continued proliferation of digital technology, this data
collection rate will continue to increase. This course focusses on developing
competencies to make informed decisions as well as to construct prediction models
based on existing multi-level data to get a competitive edge.
Admission Requirements: Onshore course offerings Recognised Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7 or equivalent) or higher; or satisfactory
preparation for the course through previous study or professional experience.

Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0.

Course Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of business analytics
- Apply knowledge of analytics to decision making processes
- Exhibit effective communication and interpersonal skills when working
with stakeholders in a variety of contexts
- Evaluate issues and problems and structure evidence-based conclusions
- Integrate ethical decision-making into professional practices.
Employment Prospects Within business disciplines there are wide variety of opportunities including
sales/marketing analyst, human resource analyst, payroll analyst,
operations/logistics analysist or working within research and development teams in
general analyst roles.

Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
