Professional Recognition The Murdoch Bachelor of Laws satisfies the University education requirements for the practice of law of the governing bodies of the legal profession of Western Australia. As is the pattern in the rest of Australia, before a candidate may be admitted to the practice of law in this State, certain additional requirements must be satisfied after completion of this formal university training.
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). With the addition of a fourth year of study, such as the Graduate Diploma or Honours program, students will be eligible for provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Professional Accreditation The LLB is accredited by the Australian Legal Practice Board, plus the Ministry of Law in Singapore and the Malaysian and Indian Bar Council.
Other Information Students may exit with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) if they have completed the required Honours Units to an appropriate level. Students who have completed the four-year Bachelor of Laws at a high standard may be awarded their degree with Distinction or High Distinction.
Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
