Description This course is designed for people who are interested in the education of adults (e.g. university lecturers or tutors, technical college lecturers, nurse educators, adult literacy teachers, community adult educators, industrial training officers).
Admission Requirements: Onshore course offerings A recognised Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) or satisfactory preparation for the course through previous study or professional experience.

Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0.
Course Learning Outcomes Knowledge
1. Demonstrate specialist knowledge in the theory and practice of adult and lifelong learning.
2. Review, analyse and synthesise a range of different theoretical approaches to facilitating lifelong learning and identify practical applications of theoretical knowledge.
Application of skills and knowledge
3. Initiate, plan and implement learning programs in a variety of adult learning contexts.
4. Use reflective practice to evaluate and plan for own professional growth.
Employment Prospects This course provides development for the professional role of a lecturer, adult educator, facilitator, professional development facilitator, instructor or professional trainer.
Advanced Standing Students who have completed other relevant qualifications or a staff development or induction program for tertiary teaching should consult with the Accreditation Officer about the exemptions available.
Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
