Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
Description The Inclusive Education Minor equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to teach children with diverse abilities in inclusive settings, and in Special Education Schools and Centres. Students will be given opportunities to plan, implement and evaluate interventions and evidence-based practices.
This Minor is comprised of professional experience, including effective teaching, observation and critical reflection, peer observations and school-based fieldwork, specifically in the area of special education.
Students will need to be enrolled in the Primary Major for the Bachelor of Education (B1319) in order to undertake study in this Minor. Completion of this Minor will provide the formal qualifications required by the WA Department of Education for accreditation and employment in Special Education Schools and Centres.
