All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
Description The Asian region plays an increasingly important role in the contemporary global system. The Asian Societies and Cultures Co-major offers the opportunity to study in depth the sociology, anthropology, media, histories, and politics of the Asian region. It is intended to provide the background for careers in teaching, law, business, journalism, diplomacy and development, and complements a range of majors for which understanding the Asian region is of critical importance in the 21st century.
