Searches are not case sensitive.
Try to specify the minimum amount of information which will yield a positive search result. You will take less time to define it, and the search itself will take less time to return a result.
Searches use 'AND' logic. If more than one field is searched on, the search looks for records that match the parameters described in the first field AND the second field AND any other fields.
To specify multiple terms within any search field, separate them by a space. Do not use any punctuation or AND or OR. For example, 'environment economics' (without the quotes) will return all records that mention those two words in that order.
If more than one term is specified in any search field, the order of the terms helps determine which records are found. Searches are for the first term in the field, then those records found are searched for the next term in the field, and so on (e.g. in the units search facility, searching for 'economics environment' may yield a different result to 'environment economics'). If you can't find a record that you think should be there, try changing the order of the terms or change the ending of words (e.g. 'environment' instead of 'environmental').
If you need to access a particular set of units, instead of repeated searches on single unit codes, try defining the search so that it will bring forth the required units as part of a list. Then click on the specific units from that list to see the unit details; links for the units you have already visited ('followed links') will change colour so that you can keep track of where you've been.
More options are available for searching Courses, Minors and Units; those pages include links for lists.
Students should ensure they are familiar with the University’s internal legislation, including provisions specifically relevant to their studies. See the University Regulations and Rules.
