Description:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a complex system of family relations. Each person knows their kin and their land. These extended family relationships are the core of Indigenous kinship systems that are central to the way culture is passed on and society is organised. This unit investigates the role that women, Elders, extended families, kinship and children have in the fabric of Aboriginal society and family construct.
