Description: |
Introduction to clinical practice, observing fifth year students in the Murdoch University Chiropractic Clinic as they take patient histories, perform physical examinations, provide treatments, and participate in clinical rounds and discussions with clinical supervisors. Orientation to clinic policies and procedures. Develop skills in history taking, physical examination and communication with patients and supervisors. Ethical and legal issues such as privacy, confidentiality and boundary issues will be introduced as students become familiar with clinic policies regarding record keeping and case management. |

Lectures and/or workshops: 2 hours of clinical work per week; 1 lecture and 2 workshops per week. |
Prerequisites: |
Enrolment in BSc/BChiro and the successful completion of Years 1 to 3. |
Exclusions: |
Students who have successfully completed CHI4841 Pre-clinical Practicum may not enrol in this unit for credit. |
Notes: |
International students enrolled in B1193 Bachelor of Science in Chiropractic/Bachelor of Chiropractic prior to 2009 should enrol in CHI4841. |
