Description: 

Aboriginal Studies is the study of Indigenous Australian history, societies and cultures, both as a subject in its own right and integrated into the key learning areas. It is not an area of study designed just for Indigenous students, but something that is of benefit to all students. Students will develop an informed position on what it means to teach Aboriginal Studies, gain an understanding of the protocols involved and increase their ability to competently program for Aboriginal Studies.

Contact time: 

Seminars/workshops: 4 hours per week over 8 weeks.

Prerequisites: 

Nil.

Exclusions: 

EDU211 Aboriginal Studies Across the Curriculum.

Students who have successfully completed a unit may not enrol for credit in any subsequent version of that unit, even if under a different code and/or title, nor in any parallel lower- or higher-level version. Students enrolled in a higher-level version of a unit are required to demonstrate advanced analytical skills and/or use of advanced research tools in assignments modified for that level.

Cancellation of Courses, Minors and Units
The University reserves the right to cancel, without notice, any course, major, minor or unit if the number of students enrolled falls below limits set by the University.
