Description: |
This unit focusses on the special educational needs of students who may be 'at risk' of developmental delay or educational difficulties, either through impairments or disabilities, or for other reasons. It will assist participants to identify and understand diverse learning needs, develop and implement strategies to enhance learning outcomes, and monitor student progress. |
Contact time: |
Lectures: 1 hour per week; workshops: 2.5 hours per week for 10 weeks in semester 1, plus one assignment component in conjunction with Professional Internship. |

Enrolment in the Bachelor of Education, Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education, Graduate Diploma in Education Studies, E245/EDU245 Learning and Assessment Processes or E241/EDU241 Processes of Learning or EDU242 Learning and Assessment: Theory and Practice or equivalent. |
Notes: |
Students enrolled in the Inclusive Education minor should enrol in the 6-point version of this unit. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education at either Murdoch or Rockingham campuses are required to enrol in the 4-point year-long version. |

Students who have successfully completed a unit may not enrol for credit in any subsequent version of that unit, even if under a different code and/or title, nor in any parallel lower- or higher-level version. Students enrolled in a higher-level version of a unit are required to demonstrate advanced analytical skills and/or use of advanced research tools in assignments modified for that level.
Cancellation of Courses, Minors and Units
