Professional Internship Prelim: Secondary BEd (EDU387)

Description: 

Students undertake a supervised two-week block of school-based placement in the school in which they will complete their Professional Internship.

Contact time: 

2 weeks full time.

Prerequisites: 

Enrolment in the final semester of a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) OR Bachelor of Education (Secondary)(Graduate) course. Students will be required to have successfully completed all the required units.
Students must have both a current WA Department of Education National Criminal History Record Check and a Working with Children (Criminal Record Checking) Act 2004 clearance from the Department of Community Development on file in the Murdoch University School Experience (MUSE) Office prior to commencement of this unit.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.

Exclusions: 

Students in the GradDipEd(Secondary) should not enrol in this unit but in EDU293 Professional Internship Prelim: Secondary GradDipEd.

Notes: 

Enrolment in the relevant Professional Internship unit (EDU389) in the same semester will be expected.

Assessment: 

A result of Ungraded Pass or Fail is awarded for this unit.

Students who have successfully completed a unit may not enrol for credit in any subsequent version of that unit, even if under a different code and/or title, nor in any parallel lower- or higher-level version. Students enrolled in a higher-level version of a unit are required to demonstrate advanced analytical skills and/or use of advanced research tools in assignments modified for that level.

Cancellation of Courses, Minors and Units
The University reserves the right to cancel, without notice, any course, major, minor or unit if the number of students enrolled falls below limits set by the University.
