Description: |
This is a beginning unit for students who have no previous knowledge of Indonesian. The emphasis is wholly on conversation, with reading and writing skills based on conversational materials. |

Lectures/tutorials/language workshops: 3 hours per week (hours may be adapted to class size). |

Exclusions: |
Students from countries where Indonesian or Malay is a partial or complete medium of instruction in the educational system, or native speakers of the language, or who have studied Indonesian at Year 11 or above, may not enrol in this unit for credit. Students who have previously studied Indonesian may enter directly into IND261, IND262, IND361 or IND362 on the basis of assessment by the Unit Coordinator. |

Students who have successfully completed a unit may not enrol for credit in any subsequent version of that unit, even if under a different code and/or title, nor in any parallel lower- or higher-level version. Students enrolled in a higher-level version of a unit are required to demonstrate advanced analytical skills and/or use of advanced research tools in assignments modified for that level.
Cancellation of Courses, Minors and Units
The University reserves the right to cancel, without notice, any course, major, minor or unit if the number of students enrolled falls below limits set by the University.
