Description: 

In this unit students begin working with clients in the Counsellor Training Centre at South Street. Students work with child and adult clients with the support of individual and group supervision. Close attention is paid to developing and maintaining counselling relationships, case conceptualisation, engagement in supervision, and professional practice.

Contact time: 

2 days per week.

Prerequisites: 

Completion of PSY405/PSY531 Counselling: Principles of Counselling 1; PSY528 Counselling: Experiential Learning in Individual and Group Counselling; PSY527 Counselling: Case Conceptualisation and Assessment AND completion or concurrent enrolment of PSY530 Counselling: Working with Adults; PSY439/PSY532 Counselling: Principles of Counselling 2; PSY535 Counselling: Children and Families; or permission from Academic Chair.

Assessment: 

A result of Ungraded Pass or Fail is awarded for this unit.
