Description: 

This unit provides students with an overview of current environmental issues in Australia. These include land degradation, management of our forests and national parks, climate change, the ozone layer, pollution and marine and coastal management. Opportunities for conservation and environmental restoration, including the role of society in relation to these issues are addressed. An interdisciplinary approach is adopted with an emphasis on exploring solutions to these issues.

Contact time: 

Lectures: 3 hours per week; tutorials: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks.

Prerequisites: 

Nil.

Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
