Description: |
A hands-on introduction to geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing as used in environmental management and planning generally. Topics: spatial data analysis, map construction, classification, change detection, cartographic modelling and demographic change. Practical work includes exercises and a minor team-based or individual research project. |

Lectures: 2 hours per week; laboratories: 3 hours per week. |
Prerequisites: |
Completion of 24 points at Part I. |
Notes: |
Students currently enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a postgraduate environmental science course or equivalent should enrol in the higher-level option. |
