Description: 

This unit aims to provide students with an overview of major current issues in environmental and occupational health in both developed and developing countries, and in both rural and urban areas. This will include the issues of waste management, safe drinking water, hazardous waste, occupational diseases, food contamination, communicable diseases, noise and chronic fatigue syndrome, and health and environmental management systems.

Contact time: 

Lectures: 2 hours per week; workshops: 3 hours per week.

Prerequisites: 

Nil.

Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
