Description: 

This unit explores the intersection of feature film and history, focusing on twentieth century America. Through the lens of feature film we will investigate and interpret some of the key events, personalities and ideas in America's recent past. Topics: the Great Depression, the Cold War, Vietnam War, the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the Civil Rights movement, the cultural 'revolution' of the 1960s and Watergate.

Contact time: 

Lectures/film sessions and workshops: 3 hours per week.

Prerequisites: 

Nil.

Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
