Creative Media Projects 1 (CRE311)

Description This unit brings together each of the different elements developed over the course of study. The analytical and conceptual skills in Creative Media are applied to real world projects. In order to complete a project brief a solid grasp of the issues involved are required. Students will work individually or in groups to a specific brief, which may be discipline-based or cross several disciplines, with the research undertaken laying the groundwork for the subsequent production of a creative piece of work.

Timetabled Learning Activities Tutorials: 2.5 hours per week.
Unit Learning Experiences Students will work individually or in groups on a project to a specific project brief. In order to fulfil the requirements of the brief a solid grasp of the theoretical and conceptual issues that it brings are required.
Creative Media Projects 1 groups may be discipline based or cross several disciplines.
Assessment Assessment for this unit consists of in-class participation, development of a project portfolio. Students will be provided with feedback throughout the semester. In addition to summative written feedback from your tutor on all assessments, there will be a class debrief of the referencing quiz and feedback from peers for oral presentations. You will also be expected to complete self-reflections on your progress in the unit.
Prerequisites Enrolment in the Bachelor of Creative Media, 36 credit points completed.

Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
