Extension to Veterinary Biology 1 (EQU031)

Description This unit extends and consolidates the students' discipline specific study skills and understanding of VET260 and VET271 Veterinary Structure and Function I, and II; Anatomy; VET272 Comparative Mammalian Biochemistry and VET210 Veterinary Professional Life I.
Unit Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this unit, the student will have also passed the associated units VET260, VET271, VET272, and have completed semester 1 tasks for VET210.
Timetabled Learning Activities Tutorials: 8 hours per week.
Unit Learning Experiences There will be tutorials, timetabled to coordinate with the main timetabled events in each unit, to provide appropriate support and supplementary learning opportunities. These will be conducted as groups or with individuals as required.
Assessment This unit does not conduct assessment, being a scaffolding unit for VET260, VET271, VET272 and VET210 in the supported degree. Successful completion of this unit requires attendance at scheduled tutorials, and successful completion of the supported units.
Prerequisites This unit is restricted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students entering Veterinary Science through the Waardong program.

Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
