Description This repeatable study project unit allows you to maximize your chance of success in the credit-bearing units you are taking. It includes a self-directed learning plan, designed in consultation with your tutor and one to one coaching. You will develop academic skills, such as critical and creative thinking, self-reflection, self- knowledge, effective time management and problem solving. All assessments and learning experiences complement the assessment and curriculum of the credit-bearing units you are taking in a given semester.
Unit Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this unit, students should be able to:
ULO1 Engage deeply with your university studies
ULO2 Apply critical self-reflection to understand yourself as a learner and improve your study habits
ULO3 Identify and address gaps in knowledge and skill-sets that are relevant to your current units of study
ULO4 Use established goal-setting strategies to enhance motivation and effectively meet deadlines
Timetabled Learning Activities
Unit Learning Experiences In consultation with the unit coordinator and/or tutor, you will devise a customised learning plan that includes assessments and tasks based on maximising your opportunities for success in the credit bearing units you are enrolled in. You will also attend weekly sessions with your ITAS tutor and participate in regular coaching meetings to keep you focused and on track with your studies.
Assessment Assessment in this unit is negotiated in consultation with the unit coordinator/tutor.
Prerequisites This unit is restricted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students entering or undertaking undergraduate studies.
Assessment A result of Ungraded Pass or Fail is awarded for this unit.

Internet Access RequirementsMurdoch units normally include an online component comprising materials, discussions, lecture recordings and assessment activities. All students, regardless of their location or mode of study, need to have access to and be able to use computing devices with browsing capability and a connection to the Internet via Broadband (Cable, ADSL or Mobile) or Wireless. The Internet connection should be readily available and allow large amounts of data to be streamed or downloaded (approximately 100MB per lecture recording). Students also need to be able to enter into online discussions and submit assignments online.
