Learning outcomes

1.
Graduates of the Honours in Psychology course will acquire a thorough grounding in the general theoretical, disciplinary, and ethical aspects of psychology with advanced coverage of research design and practice
2.
Students will carry out an individual and independent research project to a standard of publishable research in peer-reviewed psychology journals. This includes the ability to: a) Develop a research question; b) Select an appropriate research design and methodology; c) Conduct an intensive empirical literature review; d) Collect, analyse, and interpret data; e) Report findings in a written and oral format

Graduates of the Honours in Psychology course will be able to apply their knowledge and skills to critique, design, and implement research to answer current and future questions about human behaviour and mental processes

Graduates of the Honours in Psychology course will acquire a balanced and comprehensive appreciation of psychology from all major perspectives. They will gain knowledge of all relevant parts of the psychology curriculum, including the theoretical and empirical bases underpinning the construction, implementation, and interpretation of some of the more widely used cognitive and personality assessments, the theoretical and empirical bases underpinning evidence-based approaches to psychological intervention, and the influence of social, historical, professional, and cultural contexts on the science and practice of psychology

Graduates of the Honours in Psychology course will be able to work independently to sustain learning, personal and professional development
