Learning outcomes

1.

Graduates will acquire a body of specialist knowledge that includes the
understanding of recent developments, research directions and contemporary engineering practice in power system modelling and analysis, distributed resources and demand response, power electronics, and power system planning, protection and control.

2.

Graduates will gain the ability to apply established engineering methods, techniques, tools and resources relevant to solving complex engineering problems in electrical power engineering.

3.

Graduates will gain the ability to contribute to engineering projects associated with electrical power engineering involving independent research, critical analysis, development, implementation, testing, commissioning and/or design elements.

4.

Graduates will be able to apply systematic approaches to conduct and manage engineering projects and will have gained experiences in team membership and team leadership situations.

5.

Graduates will be able to effectively transmit knowledge, skills and ideas in oral and
written forms to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
