Have solid knowledge of more than area of philosophical enquiry.

Appreciate the trans-disciplinary nature of philosophy and its relevance to research and knowledge in all other academic disciplines.

Understand and interpret a historical and contemporary philosophical texts.

Undertake smaller philosophical research projects in accordance with the methodological and ethical conventions of the discipline.

Be sensitive to ethical issues and have the ability to engage in ethical discourse in an even-handed, impartial, reason-based manner.
