Learning outcomes
1.
Have a broad understanding of the agronomic, environmental, socio-political and economic factors that impact upon food security
2.
Appreciate the food value chain, and the complexities that exist between global food production and agricultural markets and trade
3.
Understand the contribution to food losses from pests and diseases
4.
Be competent in constructing logically sound arguments
5.
Be skilled in the critical interpretation, presentation and analysis of data
6.
Be able to carry out independent research (either practical or desk-based) and produce reports of the research in a number of different formats (both written and verbal)
7.
Have expertise in at least one specialist area of relevance to food security
