Overview

This course provides an advanced level of study in veterinary science at a high degree of specialisation in a selected area of study. For the clinical student the course provides an advanced academic preparation in both clinical training and applied research (which may be suitable to support speciality board certification). For the non-clinical student, the degree provides the opportunity for advanced study in analytical and research skills in veterinary science. Both programs culminate the experience with the completion of a research thesis.

Entry requirements (onshore)

To be eligible for admission as a candidate for a Doctor of Veterinary Medical Science, an applicant must have:Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science with at least a 2A Honours normally in the same discipline (AQF level 8); ora Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science (AQF level 7) and satisfy the Graduate Research Manager with evidence of substantive and significant scholarly or professional attainments including satisfactory research preparation the equivalent of AQF level 8 or 9.
