Sports Scientists are university-qualified professionals who work with individual athletes or teams to reach their peak performance. Murdoch graduates of this course will possess the skills and ability to provide evidence-based sports science services to key stakeholders (including athletes, coaches, teams, and sporting organisations) in a range of contexts.

Throughout the first three years of your degree you will develop both theoretical and practical skills within exercise physiology, biomechanics, skill acquisition, sport and exercise psychology as well as exercise programming and prescription. Within your final year you will refine these skills to enable you to provide evidence-based sports science services to key stakeholders (including athletes, coaches, teams, and sporting organisations) in a range of contexts. Practical skills are taught through evidence-based lecture and tutorials and applied in real life settings. This course allows students to graduate with both an undergraduate (Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science) and postgraduate (Master of High-Performance Sport) degree in four years following a single entry point.

This course requires students to undertake work-based training through a compulsory work-based placement as part of their studies.
