Learning outcomes
Demonstrate an advanced, integrated and applied knowledge of the relevant
clinical discipline including the diagnosis, pathophysiology,
treatment and outcomes of disease at a level of a trained veterinary specialist,
significantly above the level expected of a generalist
veterinarian.
Critically analyse and reflect on challenging and multi‐factorial clinical problems,
synthesize and evaluate complex information, and apply
appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic measures, based on sound justification
drawn from relevant, evidence‐based literature, to choose
and apply relevant therapies or research approaches.
Communicate clinical assessments, therapeutic strategies, and relevant outcomes
to a variety of audiences including clients, veterinarians and academic peers using
highly developed communication skills.
Demonstrate autonomy, expert judgement, adaptability, initiative, resilience and
responsibility as a practitioner through self‐driven
professional education, development and training and self‐critique for the purpose
of enhancing performance.
Generate and apply a scientific approach to clinical questions and demonstrate
such at a level suitable for international professional
standards in both written and oral format.
Work as a respectful collaborator within a team of experts across multiple
disciplines, but maintain initiative and an ability to work
independently when appropriate, for the purpose of case management, problem
solving and decision‐making.
