Learning outcomes
1.
Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice will have broad understanding of theoretical and technical knowledge that includes: the fundamentals of Australian migration law, policy and practice, and underlying principles and concepts.
2.
Principles and values of ethical practice and the Code of Conduct in migration agents' roles.
3.
Cognitive skills to engage in critical analysis and make a reasoned choice amongst alternatives to identify and provide solutions to their respective practice requirements in accordance with relevant legislation, ethical principles and the Code of Conduct.
4.
Specialised technical and creative skills to plan, organise and facilitate professional and effective migration services in accordance with ethical principles and the Code of Conduct.
5.
Communication skills to formulate and implement communication strategies to a variety of stakeholders including advice to clients in accordance with ethical principles and the Code of Conduct.
6.
Demonstrate complex and independent judgement in interpreting and applying migration law and policy in professional practice in accordance with ethical principles and the Code of Conduct.

Identify, research, evaluate and synthesise relevant legislation and government policy to prepare and deliver migration advice in accordance with ethical principles and the Code of Conduct.

Initiate, plan, research, implement and evaluate migration agents' broad functions within varied specialised technical and creative contexts.

Learn and work independently including the ability to reflect on and assess their personal capabilities and performance, and make use of feedback as appropriate, to support personal and professional development.
