Exercise Physiology is an allied health profession that focuses on the delivery of exercise, lifestyle, and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic disease and injury. Graduates will also possess the skills required to work within Sports Medicine teams to rehabilitate athletes of all levels.

Throughout the first three years of your degree you will develop both theoretical and practical skills within exercise physiology, biomechanics, skill acquisition, sport and exercise psychology as well as exercise programming and prescription. Within your final year you will refine these skills to enable you to provide physical activity and behavioural programs for clients with conditions as diverse as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, cancer, arthritis, respiratory disease and many others. Clinical skills are taught through evidence-based lecture and tutorials and applied in real life clinical settings. The Murdoch Clinical Exercise Physiology program allows students to graduate with both an undergraduate (Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science) and postgraduate (Master Clinical Exercise Physiology) degree in four years following a single entry point. This program will be accredited with Exercise and Sports Science Australia as both an Accredited Exercise Scientist as well as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

This course requires students to undertake work-based training through a compulsory work-based placement as part of their studies.
