Analyse the nature of interactions between poverty reduction, human development and environmental and cultural sustainability.
Critically interpret the contested nature of sustainable development.
Evaluate the Sustainable Development Goals as a global effort to address poverty and development.

This unit starts with planetary boundaries as a guiding framework to understand carrying capacity and sustainability. We move on to the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for the 2030 development agenda. An enquiry-based approach will be taken to the key issues of climate change and food security and their interrelatedness.
