Learning outcomes

Describe, analyse and apply health psychology in health care practice.

Apply selected health promotion, psychology and behaviour change concepts to a specific area of interdisciplinary health care practice.

Examine the influences on students’ own health behaviours and identify appropriate self-management strategies to promote health and wellbeing.

Understand and support others when dealing with issues of substance use, self-concept, sexuality, spirituality, stress, coping, loss and grief.

Identify and apply current research and evidence based practice that is underpinned by health psychology.
