Additional information

Unit content:The unit aims at familiarising students with the main aspects of process engineering, namely the principal unit operations, their functions and theoretical models built on fundamentals of fluid flow, heat and mass transfer. The unit provides students the knowledge on various unit operations, their presentations in the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and the Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID). Students learn a new tool helping in process design and operation. Another target of the unit is to enhance the use of appropriate search tools, preparation of technical reports in a professional manner, and oral presentation of the work achieved with great confidence.
Other notes:Students are required to have an undergraduate physics/engineering level of knowledge in heat, flow and energy fundamentals.
