Unit content:

The unit begins by defining and analysing the energy needs in different regions in Eastern Indonesia and identifying the different sources and best renewable energy options. As part of this it will explore social and economic context, community participation, stakeholder selection, and target selection. The unit will also look at design calculations for renewable energy systems and associated software. Specific lectures relevant to the Awardees Projects have been scheduled including lectures on waste to energy and desalination. Issues relevant to the management and sustainability of RE projects will be covered.
