Learning outcomes

Demonstrate understanding of nutrients, feedstuffs, feed analyses, vitamin and mineral nutrition for domestic animals
2.
Demonstrate understanding of the nutritional requirements and feeding guidelines for a range of companion and livestock animals
3.
Demonstrate ability to develop and evaluate rations for domestic animal species
4.
Demonstrate understanding of the role of nutrition in maintaining the health, welfare and productivity of domestic animals

Demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate nutritional concepts to animal owners
6.
Demonstrate an understanding of basic animal toxicology for a range of mineral poisons, pesticides, mycotoxins, poisonous plants and zootoxins

Develop a number of Murdoch University's Graduate Attributes (communication, critical thinking, social interaction, in-depth knowledge of a field of study).
