Learning outcomes

Explain the key models and theories of environmental psychology concerning the reciprocal relationship between humans and their environment in terms of well-being and behaviour.

Analyse the impact of urban environments, environmental stressors, and ecological crises on human well-being and behaviour based on psychological theories.

Evaluate the role of human collective activities, such as resource consumption and urbanization, in contributing to critical ecological challenges like climate change and biodiversity loss.

Apply models and theories of sustainable behaviour to interventions and case studies drawn from real-life experiences, showing their relevance and implications.

Propose an innovative intervention project to promote behavioural change towards sustainability in a self-selected area at an individual, communal, or organisational level, comprehensively integrating the concepts and theories covered in the unit.
