Additional information

Unit content:The unit will examine great texts, including the following: a modernist text, a post-colonal text, a post-modernist text and a contemporary Australian text. These texts are chosen as an extension on the ‘caninical’ texts selected in Great Books 1; they also will be chosen to be complementary to texts chosen in our other undergraduate units. The unit will discuss concepts of narrative, form and genre, as well as the way literature intervenes in contemporary cultural questions of politics, identity, technology and ethics.
