Learning outcomes
1.
Demonstrate sound knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practice, including the importance of sound grounding practices in consumer premises and in transmission and distribution networks.
2.
Understand the strengths and limitations of using synchrophasors in power systems protection, control and monitoring
3.
Apply synchrophasors to problems in power systems protection and control.
4.
Design simple microgrid power systems that maintain operation in both grid-connected and islanding modes, and maintain stable operation in the transitions between these two steady-state modes.
