Learning outcomes

Show evidence of the linkages between the many different components of the system through a multidisciplinary and theoretically supported approach.
2.
Provide a theoretically supported discussion of the structure of tourism as a holistic system including:‐ a. The global dimension of tourism; b. The multiplicity of industries within this system; c. The β€˜fit’ of events and festivals within this system; d. The encompassing structures provided by governments; and e. The host communities on which tourism is based.
3.
Present an argument relating to the effect of the various components of the tourism system on:‐ a. Host communities; b. The economy; and c. The environment.
4.
Link tourism and events in terms of a systems approach.
5.
Discuss the growth of professionalism in the tourism and events industries.
6.
Communicate your academic learning outcomes, from the study of this Unit, through academic and professional approaches in both written and oral presentation.
