Learning outcomes

1.
Solve a variety of mathematical problems related to the Unit Content. In particular, students should be able to: a. Solve systems of linear equations using a variety of methods; b. find function asymptotes, limits, and rates of change; c. use trigonometry to model periodic behaviour; d. find derivatives from first principles as well as apply the multiplication, quotient, and chain rules of derivatives; e. model exponential growth and decay; f. use the first and second derivative of a function to find and characterise relative extrema; and g. carry out a variety of other analyses.
2.
Explain conceptually the various methods covered in the unit their correct usage.
