Analyse the main philosophical frameworks used in animal ethics, the influencing factors on this use and reflect on where your own ethical judgements lie.
Apply the theory of animal behaviour and impact of domestication to the training and management of animals.
Critically discuss the behavioural and physiological responses utilised by animals in responding to environmental change.
Interpret the role of the veterinarian or animal professional in advocating for animal and environmental health.
Propose and evaluate climate-responsive adaptation and mitigation measures which could be applied in the context of animal health or animal production enterprises.
Communicate with peers, government and the public on issues of sustainability, climate adaptation and mitigation, and animal rights, health and welfare.

The unit will address three main themes relevant to animal health professionals:
- Animal ethics & welfare;
- Animal behaviour;
- Impact of anthropogenic environmental change on animals.
