Conduct a wind resource assessment of a potential wind farm site
Demonstrate their knowledge of the aerodynamic and dynamic loads on wind turbines and explain how this knowledge is used in the design and manufacture of wind turbines
Discuss different power configurations of wind turbines as well as different methods to control wind turbine operation
Discuss the key aspects involved in planning, designing, installing and operating wind farms
Demonstrate familiarity with the approaches used in conducting a resource assessment for a potential hydropower installation
Size a micro hydro system for a particular resource and load and give recommendations for the type of system required

The section on hydro power covers the hydro resource, turbine design, micro hydro system design and integration of hydro systems.
