Describe the main topic areas relating to substance dependence. These include history, prevalence, aetiology, neurological and psychological processes, psychological theories conceptualising dependence, recovering from dependence and evidence-based intervention strategies.

Identify, describe, and critique the literature and evidence in substance dependence field in an essay.
