Unit content:
Students will develop an understanding of the key features and advanced physiological, emotional and social aspects of adolescence and their stage of development. Students will critically engage with teacher’s roles in promoting whole school approaches to wellbeing and applying in the classroom setting. In particular students will explore ethical debates surrounding policy and practice in both administrative and legislative teacher requirements that support student learning, growth, safety and wellbeing. The unit also explores socio-ecological models in addressing challenges for children, families and teachers during adolescence.
