Learning outcomes

1.

Demonstrate basic knowledge of animal production systems, including characteristics of Australian livestock industries, fundamentals of pasture production, application of genetics in animal production systems, and farm safety

2.

Apply this knowledge of animal production systems to solve and manage problems in the context of animal management and care, promoting animal health, and occupational health and safety on farms

3.

Demonstrate proficiency in basic animal handling and restraint, identification of livestock breeds, and evaluation of pasture

4.

Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in writing

5.

Demonstrate ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team

6.

Demonstrate professional conduct through compliance with relevant policies and standards relevant to accreditation bodies
