Additional information
Unit content:The solar thermal part of the unit consists of 6 sessions, covering fundamentals (e.g., solar radiation, heat transfer, thermal storage, and system thermal calculation), typical applications of low, medium and high temperatures, as well as engineering design methods.
The biomass part of the unit consists of 6 sessions, the topics of which include introduction of biomass resources and uses, biomass supply and characterisation, biomass biochemical and thermochemical conversions, microalgal biofuels, environmental aspects of biofuel production, as well as economic and life-cycle analysis of biofuels.
