Apply the Tribes process and strategies to design, develop and create positive learning environments for students.
Teach students specific collaborative skills for social development and personal wellbeing.
Analyse and apply collaborative learning theory, and knowledge of the stages of group development, to design and implement a range of collaborative learning strategies.
Design and implement cooperative learning lessons and evaluate their effectiveness.
Critically reflect on their own cooperative learning skill set, and identify opportunities for self -development.

Tribes is organised across 8 topics. These include:
- Establishing safe, inclusive and positive learning environments.
- Strategies for teaching collaborative skills
- Strategies for creating learning communities
- Strategies for establishing and maintaining Tribes
- Applying the Tribes developmental process in classrooms
- Strategies for developing inclusion and emotional wellbeing in a cooperative classroom
- Designing cooperative learning lessons
- Reflecting on the implementation of Tribes.
It should be noted that the skills, knowledge and principles covered in the unit are applicable in early childhood, primary, secondary and adult learning contexts.
