Learning outcomes

1.

Communicate an understanding of basic mathematical concepts and be familiar with some of the content knowledge commonly used in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of mathematical information in order to communicate this pedagogical content knowledge to their students.

2.

Solve a variety of mathematical problems related to the concepts and techniques in calculus, trigonometry, derivatives, and exponential growth.

3.

Analyse and communicate the various methods covered in the unit and their correct usage.

4.

Explain the historical development of selected concepts and methods covered in the unit in order to communicate this knowledge to their students.

5.

Translate the pedagogical content knowledge of the unit to real world applications to motivate their importance to secondary school students.
