Additional information

Unit content:Placement units in the DPsych are focused on work integrated learning and require a combination of both research and practicum activities. In addition to meeting APAC requirements for client contact and supervision, students will gather data, design small studies and review of literature as described in the Translational Research Project above. In addition, these units are supported by additional clinical research training provided in a seminar format by the school’s academics. This advanced coursework will allow the placement to be a form of “research-integrated practice”. Such placements also complement the practice-oriented research undertaken in the major research project thereby providing integrated curriculum- consistent with the scientist-practitioner model. Additional teaching content will be presented PSY703 and PSY704 in a series of regular seminars on three key areas: clinically focussed research designs such as the single case design; program evaluation and data analysis; and service/policy focussed systematic review methods.
