Enrolment rules
Students must be enrolled in the following:
Master of Wildlife Health and Conservation (M1232) or the Master of Veterinary Studies in Conservation Medicine (M1122).

Learning outcomes
1.
Plan a proposal for independent research and justify it on the basis of a critical review of relevant literature.
2.
Demonstrate comprehension of and adherence to relevant OHS and animal welfare provisions by obtaining all relevant permits for the research project.
3.
Maintain data records to the high standards necessary for lodgment of records in open access scientific databases.
4.
Analyse hypotheses statistically and draw robust conclusions from data.
5.
Evaluate and present research findings in the form a major written report and spoken seminars.

Additional information
Other notes:Dissertations will normally involve a supervisor from Murdoch staff, and potentially another supervisor or collaborators according to the nature of the dissertation topic. Students will be assessed by two nominated supervisors. Enrolment in this unit is subject to approval by the Academic Chair. Students enrolling in this unit must discuss their options for research topics with the unit co-ordinator in advance of enrolment.
